Silver Bow Sisterhood is made up of NeoPagan women who come from a variety of spiritual backgrounds. From Kitchen Witchery to Ceremonial Magick – and everything in between – we are strong women who share a love for the Goddess in Her many guises.
We consider ourselves an Eclectic group. We believe there is value to be found in every path. We believe the Goddess exists everywhere in nature (including ourselves) and that forging a deep, meaningful relationship with the Goddess best allows us to grow in every aspect of our lives. Our rituals and teachings are structured around the Wheel of the Year and the phases of the Moon. We focus on acknowledging the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth as it occurs in nature and in ourselves.
What makes the ideal Sister? First and foremost, we subscribe to the “Family of Choice” philosophy. Our love and respect for each other is always there whether we are in a circle or not. We support each other in mundane and magickal matters. Our strength comes from that bond we share as Sisters.
Must be over the age of 21: While some of our rituals are “Family Friendly”, the bulk of our work is adult-oriented.
Committed and punctual. We are serious about what we do and we have taken great care in scheduling our “Goddess Time” around our other work and life commitments. Showing up for coven events unprepared, or (even worse) late, is disrespectful to your fellow Sisters as well as yourself.
Respectful of everyone’s Personal Truth. Ours is a Mystery Religion – emphasis on mystery. None of us claim to have ALL the answers, but collectively we each have pieces of “The Truth”. If you aren’t willing to listen to someone’s personal gnosis, how can you expect them to listen to yours?
Responsible. If you are one of those people who thinks everything wrong in your life is someone else’s fault, we need not ever meet. We believe in taking ownership of our actions (and inaction). Everything has consequences.
A sense of humor. Rituals NEVER go according to plan. There’s always something that happens to remind us that we should never take ourselves too seriously. And sometimes, laughter makes the best magick!
Strong, confident, independent-thinker. Question everything. Skepticism is healthy. Be proud of who and what you are while always striving to broaden your knowledge.
Self-motivated. We require that you are capable of doing your part without being micromanaged. That includes helping plan rituals AND using the message board here which is the most efficient way to communicate as a group.
